Small Groups

We are a church of small groups vs. a church with small groups.  We see small group Bible Studies as the natural next important step after church membership to connect with others, grow in our relationship with God, and find opportunities to serve.  Small Groups meet during the week, usually on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.  Small Group sessions are normally anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks, depending on the time of the year each session falls.  Small Group Brochure.

Student Ministries

Charlie and Kelly Herring lead our Student ministries, from the Baby Nursery through High School.  We have a baby nursery for babies up to age 3 with a trained attendant and a volunteer from the church congregation each Sunday morning and Wednesday nights.

Our children's church ministry meets every Sunday and Wednesday nights during church.  We are in the process in the summer of 2010 to implement AWANA as our main curriculum.  We see AWANA as building a lifelong foundation in the lives of our Students.  Sunday mornings we have AWANA for age 3 through Senior High School.  SInce AWANA is geared for every age level and class level and students have their own books to follow, they can enter anytime and progress along at their own pace.

Middle School and High School students have their own identity.  On Wednesday nights they have their own small group meetings lead by Charlie Herring and planned events, retreats throughout the year.

Outreach Ministries

We are an OUTWARD FOCUSED CHURCH.  We see our Sunday and Wednesday gatherings as equipping times so we can grow in our relationship with God, be equipped in our unique callings and then live out our lives in such a way as to influence those we have contact with in our daily lives.

Every month we have YELLOW BAG outreach.  This is simply a food ministry to our community to help families who may be struggling.  The entire congration participates in this ministry by taking a Yellow Bag home and filling it with non perishable groceries and then returning the filled bags to church.  Then the last week of the month the food is taken out by anyone in the church who would like to be a part of this outreach.  Rex McNealy Jr. is the leader of this ministry. Email Rex Jr.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY.  As a church we have worked with 'Faith Build' a Habitat program for church to combine and build houses. In 2010 we built our third house as a partner in Faith Build. Faith build is a city wide ministry of Habitat for Churches - about 6 churches partner and build.  Each church supplies a designated amount of funds and volunteer labor for the house build. Once a year we do a huge Yard Sale on our church grounds to raise our part of the finances to build a house for a worthy family.

LIVING HOPE. Has been a vision of our Pastor, Lyle Peluso for many years.  Living Hope is our outreach community center in downtown Dothan. Our coordinator for Living Hope is Michelle Michel.  Originally from New Orleans, Michelle found herself in Dothan after evacuating for Hurricane Katrina.  She found Dothan Vineyard the first Sunday she was in town and has been with us every since, leading us in one of our most loved ministries - helping people in need.

We are always looking for volunteers to help during the week and on Saturdays. Living Hope is open from 10am till 2pm every day except Wednesday and Sunday.  Here is our brochure with more information: Living Hope Brochure

Women's Ministry

Beverly Peluso leads Dothan Vineyard's women's ministries.  Through the year there are special events and gatherings, but the highlight of the year is the annual retreat at Lakepoint Resort, Eufuala, Alabama, on beautiful lake Eufaula Sept. 24,25.  This event is also open to ladies from Vineyard Churches around the Southeast. Email Beverly.

Worship Team

Our church has been richly blessed over the years with amazing musicians with a heart of worship.  Worship is one of the Vineyard movement's callings and anointings.  Many churches have used and still today use Vineyard Worship songs in their services.  Stacey Miller is our worship team coordinator, we have 3 worship leaders, others in the making, and our team is always mentoring others to bring them on the journey of Vineyard Worship.  Email Stacey.

Vineyard Cafe

VIneyard Cafe was born out of a desire to provide a meal and time of fellowship before small groups on Wednesday nights.  A home cooked meal by a volunteer cook in our church, lovingly prepared to be a ministry of connection.  Also all proceeds go towards our Student Ministry and Outreach.  A great way to get involved.

 Snacks Before Church

Following right in the footsteps of Vineyard Cafe is our Snack Ministry. Before church each Sunday a volunteer prepares a light spread of food and refreshments.  Again for the purpose of providing a place of connection and friendship.

Intercessory Prayer

God does nothing but in answer to prayer, Charles Wesley said many years ago.  We take prayer ministry seriously at Dothan Vineyard, both before church and at ministry times in our services and small groups.  Prayer before church is Sunday 9:00am to 10:00am and 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesdays.  Prayer times are open to everyone.  Also, you can call our Prayer Leader and set up an appointment for personal, team ministry prayer during the week. Cathy Koretz is the leader of our prayer ministry.  Email Cathy.

MISSIONS

Our church has taken teams to minister in Mexico, South Africa, India, Tanzania and Kenya.  We have a monthly fund raiser for our Missions called "Missions Stockholders."  The concept is simple: people invest in what they believe will bear fruit and share in the rewards.  That's exactly what Missions Stockholders is:  Individuals commited to giving $20 (can be more or less) over their tithe each month to go towards the mission vision of the church.

Missions to us doesn't just mean crossing the sea, it also means crossing the street.  We also use Missions Stockholders giving to be a blessing right here at home.

We participate every year in a Thanksgiving Meal outreach to our community with over 200 meals given away every Thanksgiving.  We have a Christmas Angel Tree in our church auditorium just for our church members to bless children and seniors in our community.

After Hurricane Katrina, our church sent a team to New Orleans to help gut and rebuild flooded homes.  We have given towards many needs such as the Haiti Earthquake, the Enterprise High School Tornado tragedy, the families who lost a loved in the Geneva County Alabama shootings, famine relief in Kenya and much more.

SENIORS MINISTRY

Kim Knight leads our ministry to seniors in our community and the church.  She has organized teams to minister and visit nursing homes and to bless them with some of the things they need.  Most of all they need people full of God's love who want to connect with them.  Email Kim
